A VERY SPECIAL LOVE PROJECT FROM MARY MAY

Happy New Year! I hope you are wrapping up this wonderful year with a full heart. To be honest, my heart is a little broken right now. Today, was the funeral for my brother Jim’s daughter Lindsay who was ripped from our family without warning. As we have spent the last week sharing photos, stories, and tears, I have been searching my heart for a way to honor Lindsay’s beautiful but too brief life. This is my gift to honor Lindsay. It is also my gift to honor you. My hope is that it can also become your gift to the people you love and to those that come after you. Although you may never know them, perhaps they can know you through your memoir. This love project is a tribute to the extraordinary narrative that is Lindsay’s life, one she never got to fully live or fully tell. It is also a tribute to the extraordinary narrative that is your life — a narrative that deserves to be preserved, celebrated, and shared. I designed this platform for us to turn the art of storytelling into a little ritual, allowing us to reflect on our experiences, celebrate milestones, and connect with the storyteller within us. - Mary

Our memories are the tessera we fit together to create the mosaic of our existence. They hold within them the joys, struggles, laughter, tears, and triumphs that make us who we are. By engaging with twelve sets of questions, you'll embark on a reflective journey through the twelve main chapters of your life. With each entry, you can unlock a new layer of your story, deepening your connection to the past and enriching your appreciation for the present. WHY MOSAIC MEMOIRS
This undertaking is intended to accomplish three main goals: To help you cultivate a writing habit using carefully crafted prompts. By taking some time each month for this project, you will craft a piece of your personal memoir. It’s about capturing the nuances, the anecdotes, and the reflections that make your journey uniquely yours.
To encourage you to share your stories and connect with those of us who love you and appreciate the beauty of your life.
To help you create a mosaic of memories that you can revisit and cherish for years to come — one that will live on long after you for successive generations to savor as well.
HOW IT WORKS Mailings: Because you are part of my family and receive my other mailings, you are already on my list. Simply click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of my emails at any time to stop receiving them. I understand there are many reasons it might not be the right time for you to undertake something like this. No explanation needed. Let me know when you’re ready.
Monthly Prompts: Each month will be devoted to a specific topic area. I will share about thirty engaging and thought-provoking questions to spark your creativity and reflection, and to inspire your writing. Answer whichever questions connect and ignore the rest. Craft Your Memoir: Reflect on the prompts and write your story, your way. This is also a journey of self-discovery. As your life’s mosaic takes shape, you will find many unexpected benefits and blessings.
Writing Tips: I will also provide helpful insights from a variety of sources to guide you in crafting your memoir with depth and meaning.
Participant Stories: I am designing an online forum where you can share some of your stories and read those stories shared by other family memoir enthusiasts who have graciously opened up about their journeys.

TWELVE MONTHS
TWELVE CATEGORIES A Mosaic Memoir is organized into a series of twelve chapters, each designed to explore different facets of your life story. These chapters provide a structured framework for capturing your memories and stories.
For each chapter there are approximately 30 questions. One set of questions will be shared with you monthly. In the first week of January, you will receive your first set of 30 questions for the first chapter: Family History. Below are the twelve chapter headings that will structure your memoir. A short description is included.
