Welcome to Family Homecoming! Y’all are in for a treat. We’ve been cooking up this little shindig since the dog days of August. As the reigning matriarchs of the clan, we’ve somehow managed to align our party-planning principles. Samantha: “Let’s Keep it Simple.” Carey: “Let’s play it by ear.” Mary: “Let’s make it memorable.” We’ve embraced the beauty of under-planning and the joy of spontaneity. There will be no forced participation, except the mandatory dance-off (kidding). It’s shaping up to be a most delightful event, we think. By leaving space for things to organically arise, we’ve been continually tickled by the delicious twists and surprising turns that have unfolded. We trust we’ll enjoy the same kind of magical serendipity at Family Homecoming. So fear not. This party is of the family, by the family, and for the family. We promise you, no stop watches, no whistles, just love. — Sam, Carey, Mary

Dear Bright and Shining Ones,
Please accept our deepest gratitude for the unforgettable gathering. It was a time of joy, reminiscence, and a reaffirmation of the profound connections that tie us together. Our gratitude is not simply for your attendance, but for the spirit of unity and love you brought to this flannel day.
We are bound not only by shared ancestry but by an unbreakable bond of affection and support. When it truly matters, we stand together, always caring, and always present.
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the importance of these moments. However, as the years pass, we are reminded that our family is a source of strength, wisdom, and, above all, love.
We hope that this celebration has not only brought joy to your hearts but also kindled a fire within each of you to uphold the traditions and values that our family has cherished for generations. Our ancestors looked upon us with pride, and we must strive to pass on that sense of unity and love to the generations that follow.
In an ever-changing world, where relationships can be fleeting, our family's enduring presence is a comforting constant. We have seen how, in our family, we can always find support and love.
So, treasure the flannel moments in your life, and ensure that the bonds we share continue to grow stronger with each passing year. Our hope is that our family remains an unwavering source of solace, laughter, and love for you personally and for generations to come.
With our deepest love,
The Five Elders
“ALWAYS THERE TO ALWAYS CARE!”
“Being a relative is more than shared blood from a common past. Real kinship arises when we realize that we have a common future, that our fates are linked. Real kinship comes when you live it. It’s not a noun, but a verb, it’s not a thing, it’s what you do.”
