Turkey Track Cookies

Making these Rice Krispie-inspired cookies have become a favorite activity in the days before our Thanksgiving. This is the first year I have delegated the “foot work” to the kids, though. I think they are perfect! Next time, I will move the entire task to them. These are so very easy to make.

Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 4 cups Miniature Marshmallows

  • 6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies

  • Canned frosting

  • 72 pieces candy corn

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Microwave marshmallows on high. Stir after 2 minutes. Stir again after 3 minutes until completely melted.

2. Remove from heat. Add the cereal and stir until coated.

3. Work fast now. Separate the warm cereal mixture into twenty-four piles. (If you coat a 1/4 cup measuring cup with cooking spray it works pretty good).

4. Let the mixture cool slightly. Butter up your hands and shape each portion into turkey track.

5. After they cool, use a little dab of frosting to attach candy corn to each claw toe.

Our Turkey Track Assembly Line was filled with diligent workers despite not being unionized. Lilly thinks when she is a beautician like Aunt Nikki she might just do hair because toes aren’t that much fun.

If you want to package these up as a Thanksgiving surprise for the kids at your holiday, or even a hostess gift, here’s a sweet little poem you can include with these Turkey Track Cookies.
