Mourning Our Air Conditioner

We can’t open the windows due to the Air Quality Alerts caused by the Canadian wild fires. So we swelter for most of the day. She served us well and we could tell last year she was headed for the graveyard - but she made it through to this season. Alas, the 90 degree days finally killed her. We have a mini-AC which will do the job until the big unit is installed. We bought her replacement last year, holding our breath. As with all things, that little stop-gap unit was probably more trouble than she was worth. I am typing this story in the wee hours because I am not acclimating to the cooler temp and mechanical drone. Despite the tribulations, I am so grateful not to be drenched with sweat. Technology is miraculous.
