Barbie Movie

A wonderful afternoon matinee of the new Barbie  movie delighted Kallie and Granny. Thankfully, Roland and Maggie had seen it once before with Ada and  were enthusiastic about a second showing. They pointed out the subtle things we might have missed without some pre-reading. Such a special work of cinematic satire. It put us all in a very pink mood, feeling all rainbows and sunshine. A couple bonuses on our trip: 1) The Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-in is happening this week and we got a lot of free entertainment in the sky; 2) Roland, Jaspir, and Kallie each got a Culver’s supper from Granny to celebrate her first in-theater movie since before the pandemic. Buttered popcorn and Blue Raspberry Icee (with some help from the theater manager) made the day even more special for our guest of honor.  Here’s Barbie heading off to Houston with Ken.
