Once upon a time, in the hazy realm of retirement, Mary Pat and John, the wise and slightly eccentric siblings, rediscovered their passion for writing. Their obsession quickly infected the rest of the family. They insisted that we join them on their dementia-inspired literary adventure, and before we knew it, Gene Pool Musings was born.

Originally intended as a biannual publication, our well-intentioned plans went down the drain faster than a soggy manuscript. Of course, John and Mary Pat blamed it all on Covid, suspecting the virus had a personal vendetta against their creative endeavors. But these two never give up, and in 2023, they rallied the family members once again, babbling about the historical significance and the legacy we must leave for future generations. And so, starting from Issue #4 and beyond, we present to you the fruits of our resurrected literary labors.

We'll be honest with you, we find each other's writing delightful, insightful, and endearing. But we can't promise you'll share the same sentiment. To protect ourselves from your smug stares, we've decided that only relatives with the secret password can access these literary gems. Mary Pat and John have been known to occasionally slip the password your way in exchange for a few Washingtons. (Well, they're old, so we think they meant Benjamins. Just so you know, they can be a little fuzzy with details).
