Ladybug Famous Favorites Image.jpg

I am so thrilled to bring you this list of some of my very favorite resources and writings for children written by very famous authors and poets. Even though I am all grown-up, I still enjoy reading them immensely. Although I love each of these, they are not my very, very, very favorites. That honor is reserved for the stories and poems you write. I will cherish those forever. I love your writing very much. - Miss Ladybug

The American Academy of Poets has such a comprehensive site of poetry and resources, you will seldom need to visit any other. They have curated collections of wonderful poems for children thematically.

They also have a rich archive of resources for teachers in their Materials for Teachers  section.

Finally, if you were looking for poems for older kids, check out their Poetry for Teens page.

For Poems for Kids, Miss Ladybug invites you to press the magic “poem button.”

Miss Ladybug has two favorite resources for reading lists. The first is from Great Schools who provide numerous resources for schools and parents, and also provide advocacy for education. Their book lists are nicely organized and categorized.

The MENSA Foundation established “MENSA for Kids Excellence in Reading Program” to encourage quality reading. Their book lists include many classics, just the way I like them.

Inspire My Kids is an organization that offers stories, videos, books, quotes, and projects to inspire kids. Their goal is to “help them be the best version of themselves and make the world a better place.” Miss Ladybug likes that idea very much.

If you are looking to inspire a child, their quotes about writing and storytelling are wonderful. You will enjoy all of the other special offerings on their site as well.
