Our Jingle Ride
In the rare and special years we have salt-free roads on Christmas Eve, Keith climbs into the Santa suit and I don my Rudolph nose and antlers. Then we crank up the old Chevy and take a little Noel drive through our bustling city filled with people looking for last-minute gifts.
On the night before Christmas, we can be found cruising parking lots as we wave at weary shoppers. Their tired and harried faces light up with when they see Santa. It’s pure delight to see them momentarily renewed by the Spirit of Christmas.
Their children squeal, bursting with the excitement of the hours ahead. People everywhere scramble to take photos with their phones as we yell out holiday greetings. It’s so gratifying!
Like these merry souls, Keith and I have always loved the unexpected Santa. There’s something so magical about it, no matter when or where — but it’s even more thrilling to BE the Santa.
We wish we could make people this happy every day.
