BACKSTORY: Green faces, brooms, and witch hats helped my daughters feel less afraid of the menaces in fairy tales. Witches especially were so powerful compared to princesses, but princesses were so pretty. It was a tough call every time the costume trunk was opened. It still is a tough call for most of us, I think. Witch or Princess?
