Slender Stalk - Issue 033

Here was my poetry newsletter introduction: This month, I should have written cool poems served with iced lemonade, but I was too hot. Instead, I wrote poems about love — love of trees, of pink quartz, a clean earth, a little baby girl with red hair— love of new beginnings, large-scale disasters, color-coding, molasses cookies, my husband running his own race, and a growing-up granddaughter. Most important, the photo above is a painting by Keith of that growing-up granddaughter painted over a decade ago. He is so fun to live with! Until next time, love every last morsel of this grand adventure - even the ones you choke on. - Mary
