Aloha BBQ Chicken Pizza

There is only one take-out pizza that I ever crave: Jet’s Alohha BBQ Chicken pizza! There is only one time I can’t resist the memory of that sauce, a crunch of pinecapple, and a nice plump crust: that would be on Friday Pizza Nights. Because my husband is the kindest man ever, he has deferred to my pizza preference three weeks in a row as of tonight’s festivities. You see, Jets started texting me every Friday at 5:00p to remind me my last order was this favorite of favorite pizzas one week ago - and with the click of a finger, I can eat it again. So I do. I am a mindless automaton, I know. Keth was even kind enough to let me lounge on the couch after a terribly exhausting day. I waited like a queen to be served this feast., I feel so pampered. I need to block caller on Jets though. I am turning into a plump crust.

My little “Death” project would be so much less without the beautiful photographs. In gratitude, today I added Photo Credits to the end of the book. This is page one of two pages. Never will I publish an e-book or any other type of significant work without doing this. Reminds me of the old time contact sheets. I think my book is visually stunning thanks to all these photos. It is said that some people rely on the kindness of strangers; I rely on the talent of strangers. I think I will also add a note of thanks to my editor/collaborators: AI and Keith.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day 2024 once again honored our $2 gift limit. Keith stole a paper lace heart off the wall at McDonald’s this morning and affixed it with the used tape to the top of my large Diet Coke. I was classier and gave him a proper card. On closer inspection, you will notice it was received from friends and repurposed. Priceless. Literally! We lunched at Riviera Maya where Keith hoarded all the food and I licked a bowl of salsa. But the Tres Leches cake was stupendous. I will be going back tomorrow for another piece for Keith’s birthday if I can swing it. As you can see, our dinner table was unused. Neither of us were up to our planned fancy dinner after the Valentine food orgy lunch. We will celebrate more on the week-end and turn our attention to Keith’s  birthday tomorrow. I hope my loved ones filled the day with love and that someone stole a heart and gave it to them.
