To show their gratitude for the Ugly Bugly Story Contest prize, Presley and Lilly did one better than a thank-you card. In a sweet effort to help me not think of myself as “UGLY”, Presley and Lilly drew pictures of me which contained suggestions for improving my beauty quotient.

You will note in Presley’s drawing, I am a hairless albino. Although I would miss my leech-like eyebrows, I think I see what she is aiming for. Skin bleaching seems a little rough for my taste, but I do have a magical enchantment for skin color so I think I could make that happen. I adore her use of jewels to decorate my hat and replace my eyes. I also like the dainty little features and think this creates a great aesthetic.

Lilly’s concept for my face is equally compelling. I like that she’s managed to work my wonky eyebrows into the face. I paid so much money to the plastic surgeon, I hate to let them go. I see she is opting for a nice pumpkin make-up with little hints of my contrasting green skin color peeking through. It creates a lovely Halloween palette and the orange makes me look somewhat presidential. Lilly also bejeweled my eyes and created a very fashion-forward hat design. My only reservation is the smile. I never do that. I’m not sure I even have those muscles. But I will try.

I plan to reciprocate and draw some beauty tips for them to make them look a little more frightening. I am thinking eye patches, some scars, and maybe a bloody wound dripping on to their clothes. And, of course, jewels for eyes. I can’t wait to get started.

I should mention that Keith May drew the cute witch hat and the girls drew my face underneath it. The hat is from a previous Halloween coloring contest and worked just great.
